The term “Group A” originated in touring car racing, as this classification defines the specifications for race cars. These vehicles typically had modified exhaust systems with increased pipe diameter (generally 63.5 mm) and an absorption design. This design reduced exhaust back pressure and thus increased torque and engine power. A powerful sound characteristic was also produced.
These systems can also be individualized with our many, varied tailpipe designs.
